Bing Places for Business: how to set it up in minutes
Updated November 4, 2026
Bing has a smaller share of searches than Google, but it's the default on many Windows computers and in Microsoft Edge, and it powers search in Microsoft Copilot. Bing Places for Business is the free tool that controls how your business appears in Bing's local results and maps.
If you already have a Google Business Profile, setting up Bing Places takes a few minutes, because you can import it.
How to set it up
- Go to Bing Places for Business at bingplaces.com and sign in with a Microsoft, Google or Facebook account.
- Choose to import from Google Business Profile if you have one. It copies your details and keeps them in sync.
- Otherwise, search for your business and claim it, or add it as new.
- Verify the listing using the method Bing offers, such as phone, email or postcard.
- Check every detail, then add photos.
Why it's worth doing
Customers on work laptops, older relatives on default browsers and people using Microsoft Copilot all reach Bing. Bing's listings also feed other services. A complete, accurate Bing listing costs nothing and closes a gap many competitors leave open.
Bing Webmaster Tools too
While you're at it, add your website to Bing Webmaster Tools. You can import it from Google Search Console, submit your sitemap and see how Bing crawls your pages. It also supports IndexNow, which tells Bing about new or updated pages quickly.
Keep details consistent
Your name, address, phone number, hours and website should match Google, Apple Maps, your website and major directories. If you import from Google, changes there carry over; if you set Bing up separately, update it whenever anything changes.
